Seventeen year old singer/songwriter Chase Emery captivates music lovers across the spectrum, from young adults to people five times his age, with a satisfying mix of rock, pop, jazz, soul and funk pumped by a pulsing heart and electric soul. As others of his generation moved predictably into punk and heavy metal, he set out on his own path to create his own unique brand of music to the enjoyment of his listeners.
Before he could even drive himself to his own gigs, he was playing numerous venues around his home town of San Luis Obispo, California and surrounding cities. At the age of sixteen, he wrote, produced, recorded, arranged, engineered and marketed his first CD. All this, while skipping the last two years of high school in favor of going to college fulltime and landing himself on the Deans List, which he’ll readily exchange for success in music when the opportunity comes.
No, Chase Emery is not your average young musician. He’s also not your average performer. Aside from hearing great music, concert goers are certain to see a lively and entertaining performance. His years in local theater and comedic Improvisation Troupes have made him comfortable, some laughingly say maybe too comfortable, on stage.
His recent EP, entitled Fuel, is a mature exploration of his talents not only as singer, songwriter and musician, but producer, arranger and engineer as well. His musicianship is displayed through his playing of such instruments as guitar, piano, bass, glockenspiel, synth, organ, and more. "I wanted to do as much as I could on the EP myself. I wanted to make it as much of a challenge as possible." The challenge has paid off. From the upbeat danceable song "Molly," to tearjerker "I'm Not Going Anywhere," to the mellow emotion-provoking song "Perfect," Chase Emery certainly knows how to please an audience with a wide range of sounds.
Chase Emery’s live performances range from acoustic to electric shows full of completely original music. His electric shows are accompanied by his powerful backing band consisting of guitar, keyboards, drums, bass, horns, and more. You can expect the band to play songs that are sure to get the crowd moving.
Chase Emery has surpassed, or more accurately, bypassed, what is generally expected of someone his age with an eye on the music scene. This young man is different, and he is certain to carve out his own unique space in the industry.
