My name is Danny Allen. I play guitar, sing and write songs. It’s hard
to get me to do much of anything else. I’ve done a lot of recording and
some touring. My favorite song is Moon River (Louis Armstrong version),
favorite food is Mexican with margaritas, por favor. Books: I like
the Grapes of Wrath quite a bit, but I also enjoy Charles Bukowski.
I’m a huge Johnny Cash fan. I also love Iggy and the Stooges, Lucinda
Williams, Tom Waits, Paul Westerberg, AC/DC with Bon Scott, Beatles,
Stones etc etc. I’ve got some dislikes, too, but let’s keep this on
an up note. When I’m not playing my own stuff I can be found playing
standards from the 30’s & 40’s at retirement homes. It pays some bills
and warms some cockles.
I play an old Silvertone guitar through an Ampeg amp (I favor scrappy
guitar tones). I just finished my first solo record (HOWDY). It was
produced, recorded and mixed by John Would at Stanley Recordings. John
also plays bass with me. Mich Kink is the man behind the drums. He
wears a lot of hats and plays a lot more than drums (xylophone,
Glockenspiel, tub ‘o lard, etc). Come see us and maybe I’ll dedicate a
