A native of Australia, singer songwriter, Fiona Kernaghan is no
stranger to the music industry. Fiona's written ten number one songs
and 100 of her songs have been covered by a myriad of artists in
Australia, the U.S, U.K, Finland, and Italy, in the genres ranging
from pop, rock, country, adult contemporary and alternative rock/pop;
all a testimony of her strong song writing abilities.
Previously signed to ABC/EMI records in 1995, "Cypress Grove" her
debut album earned Fiona the nomination of best new Australian
talent,
by the Australian Recording Industry Association. In the following
years Fiona won two more awards, one from APRA (Ascap) for Song Of
The
Year and the other for TSA, Media Song Of The Year. Together this
paved the way for Fiona's song to be placed in various Australian T.V
shows, including the hit T.V series "Outback Adventures" for which
she
co-wrote the theme song, "This Is The Outback".
As for new projects Fiona's latest pop song, "Take Me Apart" is
featured on european pop star, Tina Arena's, Greatest Hits album,
which debuted in the top ten. "Feeling Fiona" a tribute album (Red
Rebel Records) released in November of this year, features some of
Australia's best known recording artists such as Ross Wilson, Vika
and
Linda Bull, Marie Wilson all performing new versions of Fiona's
previously unreleased songs.
Currently residing in Los Angeles, Fiona writes for established
artists and develops new talent with her producer husband, Daniel
Kresco, as well as writing for the film and television industry.
"City
of Angels" her most recent song is a fun, up-beat, radio friendly pop
tune a la Sheryl Crow, that tells the tale of Los Angeles, from "yoga
bunnies in their SUV's" to affluent life on the west side, of which
she sings, "where would we be without the best of Mexico? Let Maria
raise the kids, you go get your lipo'..."
So expect to see and hear more from this talented singer, songwriter
whose strong song writing abilities and well crafted songs are well
positioned for placement into film and television.
