 Artist Bio:
Beautiful, dark, sexy, heart-breaking, uplifting, and completely irresistible, Shane Bartell's songs are the soundtrack to life, love, and everything in-between. Songs to end a relationship, or start one, depending on how life is going that particular day. Having earned a reputation for powerful, unpredictable live shows, Shane's music and near constant touring has gained him a sizable fan base. But what has really been turning heads is his voice. Bringing back beauty and subtlety, as well as power, to what has all too often been an afterthought recently, Shane Bartell has been making audiences and critics alike feel as if they are watching someone special onstage. Details Magazine says, "He's the congenital critical darling, in the best sense of the word. When you see him live, no one need ask, 'Can you feel the love tonight?', the love is self-evident."

After moving to Austin, Texas in the 90's, Shane spent several years as guitarist for the female fronted Cling, sharing stages with Oasis and Liz Phair, among others. Cling was a regional favorite, but after several years with the band, Shane decided to take a year long sabbatical and focus on songwriting. The results were eye opening.

In early 2000 while residing in Austin Texas Shane quickly recruited a band. Without any recorded material, he gained a local following and much to his surprise, found audiences singing along to his moving pop melodies. During the 2001 South by Southwest music conference, Marco Werman from the PRI show "The World," named Shane as one of the best 3 showcases that year and helped him get his debut EP, "Reference," international airplay. "Reference" immediately gave Shane a reputation as a songwriter with not only a strong melodic gift, but a sense of humor and atmosphere as well.

The Austin Chronicle writes "He's demonstrated the talent and charisma to pen songs with 'hit' written all over them, and it takes only one listen to the classic pop genius of 'Up for Air' and 'If I Could Only Get My Head Out of the Gutter' off 2001's 'Reference' EP to understand what that means. Then there's that voice."
